PERSONAL INTRODUCTION

HELLO!

MY NAME IS ISABEL AND I LIVE IN OLOT. I’VE GOT TWO SONS: A 14 YEAR-OLD BOY CALLED ARNAU AND AN 11 YEAR-OLD BOY CALLED ISAAC. MY CHILDREN WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A DOG OR A CAT. WE HAD A BIRD, BUT IT FLEW AWAY LAST YEAR IN THE SUMMER. WE BOUGHT TWO OTHER BIRDS AND THEY FLEW AWAY THIS SUMMER, SO NO MORE BIRDS SO FAR! WE HAVE RESCUED A CAT AND WE ARE GOING TO TAKE IT TO A SHELTER THIS WEEK. LAST SUMMER WE STARTED A NEW ACTIVITY: GOING TO THE LOCAL ANIMAL CARE ORGANIZATION AND TAKE DOGS FOR A WALK, THEY REALLY ENJOY IT AND MY SONS TOO!

I’VE BEEN AN ENGLISH TEACHER FOR TWENTY YEARS NOW. I’VE WORKED IN OTHER HIGH SCHOOLS, BUT THIS IS MY FOURTEENTH YEAR HERE IN BOSC DE LA COMA. IN MY FIRST YEAR AS A TEACHER I WORKED IN PUIGCERDÀ.

IN MY FREE TIME I LIKE READING, GOING FOR LONG WALKS, WATCHING FILMS AND SURFING ON THE INTERNET, BECAUSE I LIKE LEARNING ABOUT A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS, FOR EXAMPLE, I’M VERY INTERESTED IN BODY PSYCHOTHERAPY AND SELF-DEVELOPMENT. I ALSO ENJOY BEING WITH MY FRIENDS AND MY CHILDREN.

WHEN I’M ON HOLIDAYS I LOVE TRAVELLING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND GETTING TO KNOW OTHER WAYS OF LIFE. THIS SUMMER I DIDN'T GO ABROAD, BUT THE PREVIOUS SUMMER I WENT TO SLOVAKIA. I WENT WITH A NATIVE SLOVAKIAN AND HE TRANSLATED FOR ME, SO I COULDN’T PRACTISE MY ENGLISH VERY MUCH! AND THIS SUMMER I DIDN'T PRACTISE EITHER, BECAUSE I VISITED LLEIDA, ANDORRA AND COSTA BRAVA, SO EVERYTHING FINE IN CATALAN!

This is the following activity we are going to do:

1) Make your own blog on blogger. Everything in English, of course. You have to write a welcoming post in English introducing yourself. Use as many features as you can from the ones offered in the blog. Once you finish, you need to post a comment on this post with the address, so that I can visit it. Next day, you will introduce yourself to the rest of the students and make a presentation of your blog in class.

Find two websites to compare, one that you like very much and another one that you don't like.

Make as many comparisons as you can and mention the different characteristics and components of each website.

USE COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES AND AS MUCH SPECIFIC VOCABULARY AS YOU CAN.
