Using the web
Summarize every part inside each section in two or three sentences and post it in your blog. Any questions on vocabulary or structures you have, you can ask in class. After we finish all the lessons, you will have to choose what topic about using the internet you want to present in class, which will be a speaking mark and we are also going to do a Vocabulary Test.

Basic web 2: Email & Sharing
Do all 5 sections on email and sharing.
Email & sharing
Make a list of the most important vocabulary in the different sections. And after we finish all the sections, you will have to explain in class what is your use of email and sharing in different social nets (speaking activity). You will also have to do a writing activity consisting on you posting an email in your blog (with the correct structre) telling me about a normal week (correct tense) in your life and the lessons you take at school.

Big Bang Theory pilot episode
We are going to work on the pilot episode of The Big Bang Theory.
We are going to watch the episode in two parts and do two different activities about it. You'll practise your listening skills and get to know new vocabulary and expressions while also having fun!
First scene
Sheldon and Leonard meet Penny
After we finish working on the most important content of the episode with the help of some questions, I will ask you to make a summary of it, which you'll have to post in your blogs.

How many cell phones are there?
Have a look at this video on cell phones and answer the following questions:
1) How many cell phones are there per person in the world?
2) What are the differences in different countries? Can you comment some specific cases?

4) How is it that we can speak on a mobile phone without hearing other conversations from other people?

Tips to improve your presentations
1.
Choose
a topic you like. You will enjoy the
information seeking process and also speaking about it.
2.
Make
short sentences and using the vocabulary we learnt in class, do
not try to use vocabulary and expressions that you don't know how to use,
because this usually leads to mistakes and difficulty in remembering them.
3.
Basic
grammar structure you need to
follow:
Subject
+ verb + other complements.
Structures that can help you with your
presentation: YOU SHOULD, YOU MUST, YOU
CAN, YOU SHOULDN'T, YOU MUSTN'T, YOU CAN'T
+ INFINITIVE OF THE VERB YOU
NEED
Ex:
You should click on the icon on the left to download the
program.

Try
to introduce the topic briefly while showing the title and first page of your
powerpoint or other type of visual material you are using.
5.
Use
visual material that helps you
present the topic, usually photographs and/or pictures are fine, but you can
also add some video. Do not write any sentences on the material (powerpoint,
etc), just a few words. If you write sentences, do not read them and you will need to say more things or say them
in a different way from what is written.
6.
Be
ready to answer any questions the
teacher or your colleagues may ask you. Study the vocabulary related to the
topic you chose very well, so that you can understand the questions other
people ask you.

MY NAME IS ISABEL AND I LIVE IN OLOT. I’VE GOT TWO SONS: A 14 YEAR-OLD BOY CALLED ARNAU AND AN 11 YEAR-OLD BOY CALLED ISAAC. MY CHILDREN WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A DOG OR A CAT. A comparison of two websites
Find two websites to compare, one that you like very much and another one that you don't like.
Make as many comparisons as you can and mention the different characteristics and components of each website.
USE COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES AND AS MUCH SPECIFIC VOCABULARY AS YOU CAN.
You have to post your comparison in your blogs with the link to the websites, and then, when it is corrected, you'll have to make a presentation in class comparing the two websites. You will only have the visual help of the websites, no reading!!
